History

Founded on June 01, 1960 by a group of officers in Camp Crame, the Philippine National Police Lakas Tulungan Multi-Purpose Cooperative is a non-stock cooperative under the laws of the Philippines, more particularly under the provisions of Republic Act 2023. Formerly known as Philippine Constabulary Credit Cooperative Union Inc.(PCCUI), the PNP-Lakas Tulungan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PNP-LTMPC) was formed primarily to serve the needs of its members in order to encourage thrift and promote savings, to make credit available to the members at a reasonable interest rate, and to educate its members in the wise use of money and the importance of paying just loans. On October 02, 2000, the PCCUI changed its name to PNP-Lakas Tulungan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PNP-LTMPC) in cognizance of its growing membership from allied agencies and services.

The PNP LTMPC caters its services to the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the DILG Tri- Bureau, which composed of PNP, BJMP, and BFP including their pensioners. They also extend their services to the members of the Philippine Public Safety College and the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. As of today, the PNP LTMPC caters to 16,000 plus active members from different agencies and services.

In 2011 during the Strategic Planning Workshop/Seminar of the Cooperative’s Board of Directors and officers , the directors came up with the Cooperative’s Mission and Vision. The cooperative’s Mission is “ To be a lead enterprise manned by the pro-active leaders with Quality Management System and Participative Member-owner” in which the goal is to be a leading cooperative by providing quality service to its members thru quality management by dedicated directors, committees , management and staff. The cooperative’s Vision is : “A Center of Successful Service-Business Oriented Cooperators” .

In order to be a member of the PNP-Lakas Tulungan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, one must be of legal age, He/she should be willing to undergo the responsibility of a member, the applicant should have the capacity to contract, also the aspiring member must have completed the Pre-Membership Seminar (PMES), and has paid the initial Share Capital subscription of P1,000.00 as per PNP LTMPC by-laws,; and a Membership Fee of P200.

Every member must subscribe to at least Ten(10) shares (equivalent to P10,000.00) and pay the calue of at least one Share(equivalent to P1,000.00) upon approval of membership. This is in accordanceof PNP LTMPC by-laws. As a member of this cooperative, we have our set of responsibilities to fulfill. These responsibilities are as follows:
1. Pay his Share Capital Subscription
2. Participate in the Capital Build-up and Savings Mobilization
3. Patronize the Cooperative’s business and services
4. Participate in the Pre Membership Education Seminar (PMES)
5. Attend and participate in the deliberation during the annual General Assembly

Along with the said responsibilities, the members also have Rights and Privileges. The member has a right to attend the General Membership meetings. The member s have the privilege to avail the services of the Cooperative. They also have the right to inspect and examine Books of Accounts and other records of the cooperative during reasonable office hours. The members can also secure copies of cooperative records/documents pertaining to the account information of the concern member. The members have the right and privilege of having the preference in the payment of interest on share capital, which means that the they have the option to pay and meet the minimum share capital of P10,000 thru monthly automatic salary deduction, or pay the full minimum subscribe share capital. Aside from those rights and privileges, the members have a number of benefits as well. These benefits are as follows:
1. Low interest rates on loans
2. Yearly Dividends – the members capital contribution earns an annual interest in which the rate is dependent on annual income of the cooperative
3. Patronage Refund in which members with existing loans and monthly payment deduction, earns back a portion of the interest paid for the particular year.
4. Scholarship Grants
5. Death Benefit of P15,000.00 for members with subscribe Share Capital of Ten(10) Shares and above.
